construction updates

We’re thrilled to be breaking ground on the community hub of our dreams! Our Room for All Capital Campaign has been a long-planned dream that will create the resource our community deserves, bringing food and human services under one roof. We’re looking forward to breaking ground on construction in the spring.

Construction progress

June Updates

We’re thrilled to celebrate the launch of our revitalization project. Join us as we celebrate the groundbreaking for our new community food hub! Our design will provide so much more than emergency food relief, fully equipped with a grocery-style shopping center, commercial kitchen, sustainable garden, increased food storage, robust support services, and increased gathering spaces. We're well on our way to our $17 million comprehensive goal, having secured grants, public funding, and significant individual gifts. So far, we've raised over $11 million! Join us in creating a space with enough room to address the many challenges that lead to hunger in our community. RSVP online to join us, or learn more at RVFB.org/room-for-all.

May Updates

Construction is in full swing at the food bank! Our team helped kick off demolition, knocking out walls with sledgehammers. Buchannan General Contracting has been an incredible partner in this work, helping us salvage as much as possible, including steel from the old vault that remained from when our building served as Seafirst Bank, as well as chandeliers and stained glass from the sanctuary. While the front half of the building is already gone, we’ve kept the back half of our old facility with the intention of remodeling it and incorporating it into our overall design.

January Updates

After much anticipation and careful planning, our team is preparing to break ground on our new facility! As we prepare to make the transition, our administrative team is relocating our offices to the Henderson Tiny Home Village, across 50th Street from the food bank.
