Zara Teger
Outreach Coordinator
Meet our Outreach Coordinator, Zara! Born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Zara moved to Seattle three years ago to pursue social work studies at the University of Washington. Zara was connected to RVFB through UW, joining our team as a volunteer, and has since joined our team as an Outreach Coordinator for our Community Connector Program!
As the Outreach Coordinator, Zara meets with folks to connect them with resources that go beyond food, which can include anything from housing to employment, medical assistance, baby items, and coordinating all of our resource partners who table at the food bank during distribution.
“The supportive, happy, and AMAZING people” are Zara’s favorite part of working at RVFB. She hopes to listen to and connect with people who stop by the food bank and let them know they aren’t alone.
When she isn’t interning at RVFB or taking classes, Zara can be found playing lacrosse for UW, a sport she has enjoyed playing since she was in 6th grade. Her other hobbies include spending time outdoors, baking cookies and cakes, and learning photography.
For folks looking to donate to RVFB, she asks for you to consider giving “more fresh culturally relevant food items and small hygiene products” for those who are unhoused.
